A Wabbit’s Tale, The 2005 California Morris Ale

San Francisco
April 23rd

The annual California Morris Ale is coming to San Francisco this year on April 23rd, and we'd love you to be part of it! What, you might be asking, is a Morris Ale? It's a free, traveling folk dance event. Morris is a traditional form of English dancing so old that Shakespeare himself made fun of it. It’s not only traditional, it’s also energetic and attention grabbing! You can find out more about this year's event (named "A Wabbit's T'ale") on our website.

You can see examples of Morris Dancing here, including some of the teams that are performing at this year’s Ale. In addition, I’ve included a current copy of the brochure we’ll be handing out to the public (it’s a work in progress as our list of teams and sponsors solidifies).

We've invited dance groups from all over the United States and Canada to join us, and we expect approximately 125 dancers from over a dozen teams! We'll be dancing for the public for free on Saturday April 23rd at

We would love for you to add this to your event calendars, and we’d be glad to send representatives for interviews. Morris dancing is as much about the bells and clashing of sticks as anything, and as such makes for great radio, as well as TV.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at info@wabbits-tale.org, or to call me directly on my cell phone at (510) 326-0689.

Thank you!
