You've come to the right place for Stuff to Bring, Schedule, Tours, Miscellany, and Local Attractions.  If we couldn't find another place to put it, it's here!

Stuff to Bring

Essentials:  kit, instruments, songbooks, camera, earplugs (snoring is a fact of life).

That other stuff:  Clothes (bring a jacket; it gets chilly at night), bedding, towel, fragrance-free toiletries, alarm clock, personal beer container, refillable water bottle, flashlight & batteries, cash, extra libations of your own choosing.

Saturday dinner is dress-up time - as formal as you like.  We encourage outfits for which you paid only 99˘ for each visible item of clothing and jewelry (and good luck with that).

There will be people with perfume sensitivities, including a participant with a severe lavender allergy.  Please bring fragrance-free toiletries but especially no lavender products. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

Miscellaneous

We need help shuttling our out-of-town friends on Sunday to the pub stop and onwards to the airports.  There will be a sign-up sheet at the registration desk to hook up those who can offer rides with those who need them.

Dr. Mike Sutton from England is attending the ale.  He is involved with the English Diaspora Project, and is researching morris in North America.  He would love to talk with you about your team, and can be reached on his website.

Local Attractions

The camp is nestled between the Stevens Creek Reservoir and Stevens Creek County Park, and is close to two vineyards:  Picchetti Winery  and Mountain WineryIf you arrive early, feel free to take a hike through the park, or enjoy wine tasting until ale festivities begin.

If you are flying in to San Jose, the airport is just a few minutes from downtown.  There are many fine restaurants in San Pedro Square and Paseo de San Antonio, along with the art museum, the Tech Museum, the Children’s Discovery Museum, and the city/CSU combined library.  South of the university is Kelley Park with a zoo, the Japanese Friendship Garden, and a historical park.  A bit further afield is San Jose’s most touristy kitsch attraction – The Winchester Mystery House – conveniently located just across the street from San Jose’s finest high end shopping area – Santana Row, which is itself located just across another street from Valley Fair mall, just in case you can’t get enough of middle class chain stores.  And if you're still looking for things to do in San Jose, here's what Yahoo has to say.

In the burbs, the City of Campbell has a nice shopping district on Campbell Avenue, and the City of Sunnyvale has the lace museum.
