Where to Have Dinner on Friday (snacks only at camp)

We recommend Barley and Hops (better than average pub grub) or the Union Hotel Restaurant & Cafe (Italian), both just 5 minutes past camp in Occidental.  We also recommend Willow Wood Cafe in Graton.

If you're driving into Sebastopol from the south, there’s Himalayan Tandoori and Curry House (Indian), Handline Coastal California (modern Californian cusine); Papas & Pollo, (Mexican) all on Gravenstein Hwy. S (CA 116).  And don't forget  Gypsy Cafe (modern comfort food) right on Main St in Sebastopol.

If you’re coming by plane, there will be carpooling up to Barley and Hops.

Things to Bring

Saturday Evening Program

Given that some find skits excruciating to be in, while others find them tedious to watch, and in keeping with our Avian Theme, we’re going in a different direction. What do birds do?

They Sing!

Please be prepared – with your teammates, of course - to offer a song. Nice if it has a chorus everyone can join in on. Extra points for avian references, dance routines, physical comedy. Parodies welcome. We’ll have some songbooks available if you draw a blank. There will be A Special Prize for the Best Song, as judged by the applause-o-meter.  Instrumental accompaniment will certainly not be frowned upon.

There are many traditional songs that mention birds, or are about birds. For example: Pleasant and Delightful, Birds in the Spring (not the Disney version), Twa Corbies, Lark in the Morning, My Bonny Moorhen, and so on.

The list of modern songs is extensive, including: Blackbird, Freebird, Surfin’ Bird, Rockin’ Robin, Bird on a Wire, When Doves Cry, or I Want a New Duck
