Saturday Tours

Tours will include: Karma Stops, Ventura County Art Walk Festival, Heritage Square, Channel Islands Harbor, PUBS!!!

Foremen: We are still finalizing tours as more registrations are coming in.  Confirmed spots include Heritage Square, Ventura Harbor, Channel Islands Harbor, Victoria Care Center and the Camarillo Care Center in addition to the Artwalk Festival.  You can plan loosely on 30 minutes at the Care Centers, an hour stop in the morning, one show dance and mass dances at the Artwalk, an hour stop in the afternoon, and pub dancing at the end of the day.  The longer stands should have time for 3-4 dances per team plus massed dances.

Political Parties: Each of the three tour buses will comprise a party.  The parties will be the "Awful Whigs", the "Absolute Do Nothings" and the "Why Change Anything?" party.  Whatever bus you're on, that's your party.  While traveling from stand to stand, each party will 'caucus" (may require copious consumption of refreshing beverages), and develop a platform and one or more candidates.  The candidates and party reps will canvas for votes any way they can think of that doesn't involve bombs or firearms.   We will have three voting boxes for all to vote as they wish. The winner(s) will be announced Sunday morning and will receive bragging rights and whatever magnificent prize we find.

We believe in old fashioned politics and the UN is not observing this election.  So encourage all Ale attendees to vote early and often, bribe people from other parties, stuff the ballot box, and hang the hanging chads!  Seriousness is discouraged – we’re getting enough of that in the real world thanks.

Satrurday Evening - the Inaugural Ball

We’re getting a lot of questions about the Inaugural Ball.  Our intention is not to cause stress with this, but to add a bit of fun.  It has long been tradition at west coast ales for some folks to dress up for the feast on Saturday night.  We’re just taking this a step further and trying to create the proper atmosphere for our theme.  Feel free to make this a Fancy Dress opportunity, a formal affair, or even wear your shorts and t-shirts if you like.  We are asking, not insisting, on a bit of fun dress-up.

Please participate as you choose. The feast will be an all-American BBQ election event (but without the $2000 a plate price tag or the boring speeches).
